Question: What does a JUL Community Services Librarian do, and how is it different from an Outreach Coordinator?
Answer by David Palmer, Public Services Manager: In the announcement that Sharla was moving from YFS to JUL in March, it was mentioned that she was going to be a Community Services Librarian. She will be a Librarian II in the Community Services division of the TCC/CVB Joint Use Library. The Early Literacy Outreach Coordinator is currently Liz. After her retirement, that position will be reclassified as a Librarian III and it, and all of ELO, will report to the YFS Manager while being based at JUL.
So, in short, the staffing at JUL currently looks like this:
Community Services
Librarian V Manager Neva
Librarian III Matt
Librarian II Sharla
Librarian II (YFS) TBD (reports to YFS Manager)
Librarian III Matt
Librarian II Sharla
Librarian II (YFS) TBD (reports to YFS Manager)
ELO (Early Literacy Outreach) - division of YFS (reports to YFS Manager)
Coordinator Liz (until April)
Librarian II Cindy
Please respond with what the job does or entails, or the job description. Thanks
ReplyDeleteWill there be any Library Technicians employeed at the JUL when it opens?
DeleteVBPL librarians at the JUL will use the same job descriptions currently used by VBPL librarians. "Community Services" is the division in which these people will work. It is similar to the Central Library Reference division where the job descriptions are actually Librarian I or Librarian II; or Agency Managers where the job description is Librarian III or Librarian IV.
